Weight Training is a very general term. The results I get from Weight Training will vary greatly depending on how I lift the weights.

For Maximum Strength, you should lift heavy weight with very low reps.  The rest between sets should be long allowing your body to almost completely recover.  The diet should be full of Carbs, Proteins, healthy fats and Veggies.  Calorie counting isn’t a big deal for someone seeking these results.

For a dude looking for a BIG cut up beach body, a combination of medium heavy weight doing 6-10 reps and lower weight doing much higher reps will be a good combination.   The diet is just as important if not more for someone seeking this ripped up look.  Lean meats and veggies should be the base of most meals.  Complex Carbs and Healthy Fats are also important but, you must be sure to count calories.

For a lady looking for a very lean build, low weight with high reps is the way to go.  Adding heavier weight with 8-12 reps for squats is great addition to get that nice bubble butt that many of my members want.  Lean Proteins, Fruits and Veggies should be the foundation of any diet with these results in mind.
